The center of this bag is a kalaidesccope made of “Joie De vivre” fabric.
Joie de Vivre is the name of a fabric line designed by Robert Kaufman to benefit breast cancer research. It is French for joy of life. It was made for the life love hope quilt challenge contest by Bernina. When I found this fabric I loved it and then when I found out why it was made it became even more special. The repeat center design is especially beautiful. This fabric is no longer available and I have used up what I have. When I first found this, a treasured friend was diagnosed with breast cancer and I made her a quilt using it as a focus farbic. She still curls up with it.
The back is identical to the front. The spring green surrounds the hexagon and makes the mandala “float”
Lined so raw edges from the piecing are not exposed.
